research adviser and meet with him/her to discuss your project. ·
One or
two students (TBD) will present papers next time. Their presentations
should provide a brief, high-level summary of the paper and accomplish the
following: o
give
some general background for their research topic o
show
how the paper motivates (or is related to) their research Use of
diagrams/pictures is encouraged. ·
Start
putting together the list of papers you expect to use in the background
section of your intro, one of which you will present in class. Ask your
adviser or myself for help with this if you are not sure how to proceed with
this. This list will be due in two weeks. |

HW 2 ·
Send me (links to) three papers related to your
research, specifying the one you wish to present if you have a preference. This
should be emailed to me before Monday, Sept 19. ·
Start
working on your research project timeline (with as much detail as possible); it
will be due week 4 (Mon, Sept 26). ·
Evan and Sarah will be presenting papers next
time. Their presentations should meet
the same goals as the previous week (see above), but they will also be
leading the discussion afterward that dissects, analyzes and critiques the
introductions of the papers they present. |
